“Remember When…?” A Hawaii Traditions Series Celebrating 50 Years of Statehood
RememberWhen…
Do you remember bowling at Keiki Land and playing in the sand boxes at the old Ala Moana Center? Do you remember eating at Coco’s and Goody Goody Drive-in? Or how about when Elvis entertained at Honolulu Stadium? Were you there? Do the names “Checkers and Pogo” or “Captain Honolulu” mean anything to you? Do you remember riding the boats at the Ala Wai Canal boat ride concession?

There is a Hawaii from yesterday—a simpler place from a more innocent time. It is the Hawaii of our youth, the romantic, nostalgic version of the 50th State that brings a flood of memories and emotions when we stop to remember the people, places and events that once were, and exist now only in our shared history and collective memories.
Visit with us at Hawaii Traditions as we take you back through 50 years of Statehood through the launch of our “Remember When…” series. We warmly welcome your recollections of the Hawaii you remember from years past, right here, at Hawaii Traditions.
