Molokai: The Friendly Isle

A population of more than seven thousand people on an island approximately 260 square miles continue the traditions, values, and culture that earned them the appropriate nickname, The Friendly Isle. Inhabited since 650 A.D., Molokai remains the least developed of the major Hawaiian islands.

The natural beauty of Halawa Valley, the historical innovative ancient fish ponds, the seven tiny buildings that make up Church Row in Kaunakakai – Molokai is rich in historical culture.

One of the most historical moments in Hawaiian history was in 1865 when the island’s Kalaupapa peninsula was cleared to colonize those suffering from leprosy. A time when disease brought division, confusion, and much heartache to the people of Hawaii – Father Damian volunteered his time serving the people on Kalaupapa.

For an authentic experience of old Hawaii, visit Molokai.
